What started as a mission trip fundraiser has now become a popular couture headband company, selling in over a dozen boutiques.
Christen Edmonds is a Senior Kappa Kappa Gamma at MU studying Textile and Apparel Management. To help fund her mission trip to Swaziland she created Bandiez, a variety of spandex headbands with fun patterns, prints, and laces. Her first customers were her sorority sisters, but not long after word started to spread about the stylish, new headbands. Bandiez are currently being sold in 13 total boutiques throughout Missouri, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Christen has made appearances with her Bandiez collection to sorority mom’s weekends and Mizzou sororities.
What does the future hold for this up-and-coming business?
Edmonds hopes to find a way to give back to sororities by giving their philanthropies’ a certain percentage of what they buy. Her newest product is a head-wrap for cancer patients with the same fun patterns as the Bandiez.
