Ready to rock out in your dorm? Three members of the HC Chatham team share their favorite songs this September:
Catherine Giles, Sustainability Writer

The three songs I’m hooked on right now are:

“Everybody Talks” by Neon Trees

“Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” by P!nk

“Better than Revenge” by Taylor Swift

Alex Heathcock, Fashion Writer

“Undisclosed Desires” by Muse, because it reminds me of what falling in love should feel like and that I should seek somebody who accepts me wholly for who I am when I do find somebody.

“All These Things That I’ve Done” by the Killers. I love how it starts out slow, mellow, and sad, and turns into being this hopeful jam out song that makes you so happy.

“Baby Blue” by Dave Matthews Band, because it’s such a beautiful guitar ballad to fall asleep to or study to.

Shannon Ward, News/Lifestyle Writer

This fall, my favorite songs are all from epic musicals.

“Pretty Women” from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
One of my top three favorite songs from the musical; I can never ultimately decide which one is the best. Not only is this song beautiful to listen to, but the two men singing it (Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman) are also two of my favorite actors.

“Goin’ Back to Hogwarts” from A Very Potter Musical
All the songs from this musical (and its sequel, “A Very Potter Sequel”) are pretty awesome, but this one is chronologically the first of many great hits. Every summer, I reread the Harry Potter books and this year, the infatuation has not ended with the changing of the seasons.

“Defying Gravity” from Wicked
I’ve never actually seen the musical Wicked, but the beautiful lyrics and positive message of this song are enough to earn it a spot in my top three favorite songs of the fall semester.

“Southern Comfort Zone” by Brad Paisley

“Dim Lights, Thick Smoke” by Dwight Yoakam

“Outta My Head” by Craig Campbell
