Last night was a big night in the television world: The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards! If you were too busy cramming for your Monday morning classes to watch all the stars strut down the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in their awards show attire, don’t worry, because we’ve got all the details for you here!

First of all, let’s talk winning shows. Modern Family won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series for the third year in a row, beating out the long running 30 Rock as well as the new fan faves Girls and Veep. The award for Outstanding Drama Series, though, went to the brand new Homeland, which beat out the longtime favorite (and winner for the past four years!) Mad Men.

As for individual winners, Julia Louise Dreyfus took home the statue for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her vice presidential role in Veep, and Claire Danes won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of CIA agent Carrie Mathison on Homeland. Modern Family’s Julie Bowen took home the title for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and the amazing Maggie Smith won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as the Countess of Grantham on Downton Abbey. These are just the ladies, though, so make sure to check out the full list of winners from E! Online.

While all that info is exciting (especially when our favorites win!), we all know the best part of awards shows are the variety of outfits that march down the red carpet! There were some gorgeous dresses on display last night, but some outfits just didn’t quite work (see the Huffington Post’s slideshow of Best and Worst Fashions from last night!) Some of our personal favorites were the girlies from Modern Family, Sarah Hyland and Ariel Winter, who both looked gorgeous in their gowns. To see a ton more arrivals pictures from last night’s ceremonies, make sure to check out the slide show at Emmys.com.

And, of course, what would an awards show be without a few funny goofs? E! Online reported on the highlights from the night, which included Julie Bowen’s use of the phrase “nipple covers” a few times too many in her acceptance speech!

Let us know about your favorite Emmys outfits and memorable moments in the comments!
