We’ve all heard people talking about that awful cold going around campus. The school even sent an email out about it! Have you caught it yet? If not, you’re lucky. It’s moving fast around campus but this here will tell you how not to catch it! It’s important to stay healthy! Being sick at college is not fun.
First off, and most importantly, get your beauty rest! Of course it’s tough to get a full 8 hours of sleep when professors assign tons of reading and writing but do your best to get it done during the day. A good night’s sleep builds your immune system and will give you more energy the next day!
Another important way to fight off colds or any illness for that matter is to up your vitamin intake! Vitamins B, C, and D are great to take if you’re looking to up your immune system. Let’s not forget there are many vitamins you can find on the shelf that will improve your skin, hair, and nails! There’s something for everyone.
Have you heard the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away?”. Of course you have! Well, it really works! Apples are full of antioxidants which will boost your immunity if you happen to be under stress.
So next time you’re in the Hat Rack, grab an apple instead of that bag of chips you’ve been craving. You’ll be glad you did!
Along with your apple, drink lots of fluids. If you’ve already caught that campus cold this is an effective way to get rid of it. It’s also a definite way to defeat a cold. Avoid coffees or sodas – these cause dehydration. Water is the best solution! So, girls, go buy a 24-pack or stock up on water from the C-Store! After all, we’re told to drink at least 8 glasses a day, right?
Hopefully, this advice helps. No one wants a cold! So get your beauty rest, take your vitamins, eat healthy, and drink plenty of water! If you do so, you will most likely avoid that cold that’s being passed around on campus.
