Michelle Canete is a USF senior who was born in New Jersey and then moved to Citrus County, Florida and attended high school in Ocala, Florida. Michelle has been a ballerina for 16 years; she started at the young age of four and let go of that passion during her freshman year of college. She is majoring in international studies and minoring in public relations. Michelle is currently learning to become fluent in Italian and is also teaching herself to play the acoustic guitar.

A recent interview with Michelle revealed that she is a young woman who enjoys life and tries to live to the fullest while focusing on her future and learning from her past.

What are your hobbies, or what do you do for fun? “Lately, I’ve been into designing clothes/altering ones I already own and I take up photography and traveling when I have spare time. For fun, I just enjoy chilling with good friends and experiencing new places.”

What’s you favorite go-to outfit for a regular day? “Since it’s always so hot out, I usually go to a pair of denim shorts and a cute top with sandals. I kind of like the neon trend, so I’ve been buying shorts in bright colors. My favorites are orange and pink. I’m also a big fan of maxi skirts/dresses, but I’m having a hard time trying to find some that aren’t too long on me.”

What is an ideal date for you? “A surprise date, somewhere romantic, maybe at the beach.”

What has your college experience been like for you? “College has had its ups and downs, but I’m almost done! I’ll be graduating in December. All I can do is look forward from here.”

Are you involved in other organizations? “I am in the USF International Studies Club and would like to become more involved in PRSSA.”

What do you plan to do after you graduate? “My ideal plan is to move to NYC for grad school and get a PR job in the fashion industry, whether it’s with a magazine or big time designer. But first I must save up a lot of money, so I’ll most likely continue living in Tampa and working for the next year.”
