For designers everywhere, having a collection show during the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week is the ultimate high of their career – but for us lovely fashionistas, it’s a week-long drool-fest over everything we want but will never have (well, unless you’re a Kardashian). While all the designs showed are unique and fresh, this year’s exhibition of the Spring 2013 collections, which took place at Lincoln Center starting September 6th and ending September 13th, presented several common elements pointing towards trends that will be soon be coveted by all fashion groupies. Luckily for us, thanks to stores like Forever21, we can easily incorporate these trends into our daily lives without looking unapproachable (admit it, those avant garde models are pretty terrifying)!
Tough Florals: Floral patterns will always be a popular choice for Spring, but mixing flowers with black, leather, and studs makes for a fun and flirty take on the sometimes grandma-print.
