Want to celebrate the second round of Halloween parties with some new costumes? Don’t worry Collegiettes, we’ve got you covered with these 5 easy DIY costumes so that you can refresh your look and party with confidence!
1. Mime
One of the best parts of Halloween is face painting! Once your face is painted, all you need is a pair of black skinnies, a black and white striped top, and your dancing shoes to complete this mime look.
2. Amy Winehouse
Want to pay homage to your favorite Back-to-Black singer? Don a black wig or poof your hair (Snooki-style) in the back to get Amy Whinehouse’s signature beehive. Put on some red lipstick and wing out your eyeliner to get Amy’s makeup look. For clothes, you can wear a tight dress or a black tank and leather jacket.
3. Candy Corn
The candy corn costume is fun and simple. Just cut up a couple of yellow and orange t-shirts and attach them to a white dress. Now you’re a cute little candy corn for Halloween.
4. Frida Kahlo
All you’ll need to pin up some braids and wear a flower headband. You can find faux flowers from the dollar store or make your own out of tissue paper to stick on the headband. You’ll also want to put on a maxi dress, chunky earrings, and a shawl. Draw on the uni-brow and you’re ready to go!
5. Nyan Cat
Nyan cat is by far one of the coolest costumes. You can make cat ears using construction paper, scissors, and glue. Then, get a large piece of poster paper and draw on the pop tart. Poke a few holes in it, get a ribbon or string, and tie it around yourself. Am I missing anything? Oh yeah, the rainbow tail! Grab a rainbow anything—a flag, a scarf, or make rainbow paper chains—and stick it on your back. Costume complete.
