Food Truck Fridays: Baja Taco Truck

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

I found this week’s food truck, the Baja Taco Truck, parked at Commonwealth and St. Marys Street on Tuesday evening. Despite the rain, there was a long line of customers ordering everything from tacos to burritos to gazpacho soup. This truly is a testament to how delicious their food is.

The Baja Taco Truck is on a mission to bring the concept of the San Diego taqueria to the streets of Boston.

Daily they serve up tacos, burritos, tostadas, enchiladas, soups, quesadillas, and more. All of these items can be made with chicken, fish, or Carne Asada (grilled beef). Basically if you are craving any Baja-style dish they will probably have it. And if you are feeling adventurous, try their California Burrito, filled with Carne Asada, French Fries, Sour Cream, and Guacamole.

I decided to order the chicken burrito. It was delicious and stood up quite well in comparison to other burritos I have eaten. For only $5.50, the burrito was pretty big and was served with chips and salsa. The burrito was very flavorful and had a bit of a kick. The chicken was shredded and the burrito was filled with the chicken, rice, diced tomatoes, onion, and green peppers. The flavors were well balanced and the burrito was lighter than some other burritos I have eaten that are full of cheese, beans and other unnecessary condiments.

One of the first things that attracted me to the Baja Taco Truck was the bright green color of its exterior. Their logo is also one of my favorites- a retro van with an orange surfboard on the top.

With quick service, friendly staff, and a delicious California authentic burrito I know I will definitely being visiting the Baja Taco Truck again!
