Thanksgiving break is underway and Turkey Day is almost here. Initial thoughts of Thanksgiving break include hanging out with friends or stuffing your face at the dinner table with family, but what can you do to stay productive during Thanksgiving break?
Study and Apply: Finals will be here before you know it. Take some time and put together a study guide or notecards for your upcoming finals. You’ll be happy you did so when finals arrive. And although it’s only November, start thinking about your summer internship. Research internships and think about cities you can see yourself interning and living in. Ask your parents or an experienced friend to look over your cover letter and resume to get ahead of the game.
Bucket List: Do you have a bucket list that you’ve been staring at? Take action during Thanksgiving! While you’re thinking about who you’re thankful for, start making memories you’ll be thankful for later down the road. If you don’t have a bucket list, make one! It’s a great opportunity to try new things and have new experiences.
Read a Book: Go to the bookstore and pick out a book or two for your Thanksgiving break. Encourage some of your friends to read it too and talk about it once you all finish. While you’re at it, light a fire and sip on some hot chocolate while you enjoy your new book.
New Hobbies: Start up a new hobby that you can take with you to school once break is over. For example, participate in a yoga class over break. Whether it’s Lululemon or Target, every girl loves some new yoga pants and a yoga mat. Get in some extra motivation and decorate your yoga mat with sayings that inspire you. The thoughts written on your mat should inspire you to be Zen and embrace positivity.
So, whether you’re staying home for the break or going on vacation, having a productive week will help you feel like you’re back on your feet when you come back to campus. Enjoy your break and get some R&R.
