Bored with your wardrobe? Steal some style hints from the boys.

One of the easiest ways to spice up your bland wardrobe is by mixing in some traditionally
masculine pieces, and juxtapose them with some of the most feminine items you own.

It’s best to stick to a maximum of two masculine pieces per outfit—we don’t want to look like
a boy, we just want to copy the effortless essence of the their style. We looked to some of our favorite
fashion bloggers for inspiration on this trend and how they would wear six classically masculine
pieces.

Plaid Shirt

The always chicly dressed, Bee, from Atlantic-Pacific, did the plaid shirt for the holidays. She
took this classic men’s shirt and paired it with a knee-length sequin pencil skirt.

Boyfriend Jean

These are just like those jeans you stole from your boyfriend—broken-in and distressed so
perfectly, but made for a woman’s body. Lauren of the fashionable couple that makes up
Necessary & Proper did the boyfriend jean with a bright pop of color from her red trench. We
also love how she pulls off the next item on our list, the loafer.

Loafer

There are so many variations of the loafer for this season. You can go with the old-school tassel
penny loafer like Lauren did from Necessary & Proper, or you can go with the smoking loafer
like Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere. She paired the loafer with skinny black jeans and a
comfy lose sweater.

Blazer

This schoolboy trend has been in style for a couple seasons now, and we’re still not over it. A
blazer adds a certain charm to an outfit that no other jacket can. Jessica from What I Wore did
two masculine pieces paired with some skinny jeans and heels. The tweed blazer mixed with the
leopard print and heels makes this outfit so sassy and feminine.

Chambray Shirt

A chambray button up shirt can be paired and layered under almost anything for the cool fall and
winter months, or just simply by itself. Mary from Happily Grey wore a chambray shirt with
some cool riding pants and booties.

Moto Jacket

This jacket “edges up” even the most feminine of dresses and skirts. Bee, back at Atlantic-
Pacific
, paired a strong tan moto jacket with a sweet, neutral pleated skirt.
