Rent the Runway: An Online Fashion Oasis

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Stressing out about finding that perfect dress for occasions such as semi formal or spring recruitment? And then, after finally finding a dress you love, do you fall out of love with it upon seeing its price tag? All hope is not lost, ladies! Thank goodness two fellow fashionistas ran into the same problem, and figured out a solution: Rent the Runway.

Rent the Runway is the ultimate online fashion oasis. The website is filled with amazing dresses by every girl’s dream designers such as Hervé Léger, Badgley Mischka, and about 160 more. To help you narrow down your choice (it’s usually pretty tough to do so) the website offers plenty of reviews and photos of other girls with similar body types in their dresses. Just plug in your measurements and your fear of a certain dress not fitting quite right will disappear. RTR understands that with so many standout dresses it can be difficult to pick just one, which is why your second dress is always just $25.

The online dream closet gets even better. Not only are you able to rent dresses, but jewelry and handbags as well! You can seamlessly assemble a whole look from head to toe since RTR also sells shoes and undergarments, all in the same place. Seriously, what doesn’t this website have?!?

With fabulous designer dresses available for 10% of the retail price to wear to formal events, it makes it incredibly easy to find that perfect dress. Plus, even luckier for you, Emory’s own branch of Rent the Runway is always posting extra discounts on their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Collegiettes- save your stress for final exams and papers; Rent the Runway has you covered for any event!

Jessica lives her life at several speeds. She talks too fast, eats too slow and over-analyzes too much.  When she’s not telling long-winded stories, sitting alone at the dinner table, or staring off into space, Jessica loves all things creative. Screenwriter, play director and poet at age 9, songwriter and choreographer at age 16, now, at 23, all she really wants to do is write, help others, and post Instagrams.  As a social media coordinator for multiple fashion brands, and a post-grad writer for Her Campus, she gets to do just that. Jessica is a Midwestern girl from the suburbs of Chicago, but she fell in love with city living during a summer internship in the Big Apple, and now calls NYC home. Jessica loves chocolate milkshakes, dance parties, Chippewa Ranch Camp, Friends re-runs, Chuck Bass and of course, spending time with her fans (read: family and friends).
