THE HC TEAM WEIGHS IN: Our New Year’s Resolutions

You have a day to decide your New Year’s resolution — the pressure is on. Get some inspiration from the collegiettes at Her Campus on how to improve upon yourself in 2013 by checking out what we’re doing come January 1, below. And, as always, let us know your resolution by leaving a comment below!

To maintain a healthy diet firstly, as well as to be more spontaneous by trying at least one new thing (food, art/craft project, exercise, school related activity etc.).
– Katrina Horgan, Campus Correspondent, University of Maine

I’m studying abroad in Australia this spring so my resolution is to take advantage of every new opportunity and experience that comes my way while I’m there!
– Claire Peltier, Campus Correspondent, University of Pittsburgh

My resolution is to try to do things not because they “look good,” but because they genuinely bring me joy.
– Katie Naymon, Contributing Writer, Johns Hopkins University

Be more positive overall; have a glass half full mentality even if the situation is less than ideal.
– Leah Tully, Campus Correspondent, University of New Hampshire

To become healthier by eating right (I’m giving up that sugar addiction!) and exercising more.
– Ashley Young, Campus Correspondent, West Virginia Wesleyan College

My resolutions are to start a blog and update it 2-3 times a week and train for a 10K!
– Rachel Crocetti, Campus Correspondent, Hofstra University

My resolution is to be positive about whatever comes my way and remain organized and focused throughout the semester. I’m also working on a new and more exciting workout schedule!
– Bettina Weiss, Campus Correspondent, Connecticut College

I’d be lying if I said I ever had a New Year’s resolution. All I’m hoping for is a lucky lady to smooch at midnight on NYE!
– Andrew Bensch, Real Live College Guy, San Francisco State

My New Year’s resolution for 2013 is to live my life the way I want to live it; to the fullest, and with no regrets. I vow that this is my year, that this year I will become the person that I’ve always wanted to be: a risk-taker, a go-getter, and a dream catcher. I vow that 2013 will be the year that I stop being afraid, and start living!
– Nahja Martin, Campus Correspondent, University of Pittsburgh

Not making one because I know I won’t keep it.
– Mariah Moses, Campus Correspondent, Virginia State University

I want to join this website called 750words.com for my New Year’s resolution this year! It is a site that encourages aspiring writers to write their “morning pages,” about three pages or 750 words, to keep them in the habit of getting their thoughts out of their heads and onto paper (or in this case, a computer screen). It’s hard to find time to write for pleasure between reports and term papers for school, and I’m hoping that using this site will restore my passion for writing as I ring in a new year full of loads of exciting things to write about!
– Alicia Thomas, Contributing Writer, Penn State

During this new year, I want to focus on being the best version of myself I can possibly be: being healthier and more aware of how my life choices affect me. I also want to be a better friend, kinder and more appreciative of those in my life.
– Nafisa Masud, Campus Correspondent, University of Utah
