With the advent of our favorite fashionista of the box returning to prime time – Carrie Bradshaw, it got us thinking what other shows we are looking forward to watching this spring for some sartorial inspiration. Below we have compiled a list the shows we tune into, if not for the juicy story line, to catch a glimpse of this season’s hottest fashion trends.
Â
1) The Carrie Diaries
For all those who miss the sartorial ladies of Sex and the City and are upset that there is not another movie to look forward to (despite how good or bad the last one was) there may be a fashionable solution – The Carrie Diaries. The Carrie Diaries (for those who have not heard) is a prequel to the original series, depicting Carrie Bradshaw as a teen. Judging from the photos that have been released this show is sure to delight, but we will have to see if Carrie is just as fabulous as a teenager. Check out the new series on the CW Mondays at 8/7c.
2) Glee
This show may be centered on high school aged kids, but do not underrate these teenyboppers sartorial senses. First, the students’ move to college has only bettered their choices in apparel and we can all take a few lessens form the members of younger generation who seem to have the effortless ability to transform casual pieces into a chic ensemble. Also did we mention that Sarah Jessica Parker will appear on the show dressed to impress by Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Anna Wintour? Catch some Carrie, I mean Sarah, and the rest of the cast of Glee all dolled up on Thursdays at 9/8c on Fox.
3) 90210
One of our favorite guilty pleasures featuring a satisfyingly melodramatic plotline and the lives of some kids who get into some particularly crazy situations, we look up to the entire cast of 90210 for all demonstrating their own incredible taste in clothing. If you are feeling like trying some trendier statements like mismatched patterns or something with spikes, then check out the ensembles that Silver puts together (though if you are feeling less experimental stick to Annie’s as your style guru). For a more classic feminine look that is always flawlessly put together check out the wardrobe choices of the egotistical Naomi. Don’t count the boys out either, they are not slumping around in baggy jeans and old t-shirts; on the contrary they are quite stylish themselves. So pull your boy on the couch with you on Mondays at 9/8c and tune into the CW for some (maybe needed) inspiration.
4) Revenge
There is no doubt that the characters of this upscale drama set in the Hamptons are dressed to impress. Check out Herve Leger dresses and other curve-hugging frocks on Madeline Stowe and Emily VanCamp. Our favorite new fashionista though is Ashley Davenport, played by new starlet Ashley Madekwe (we hope that she will be back as she had an untimely departure last episode). Ashley rocks the latest trends like its her job (and maybe it is?) well still staying out together and classic in sheath dresses and pencil skirts. We are digging her own fashion blog, Ring My Bell. Check out the lovely ladies of Revenge (and men! Don’t worry we did not forget you Joshua Bowman..) Sundays at 9/8c on ABC.
5) Hart of Dixie
Well, there is pretty much no way this show could not be fashion-forward as it stars one of our favorite celebrity style icons – Rachel Bilson. Bilson plays a New Yorker relocated to a small southern town where she has her own general practice. Her New York flare is not lost in the relocation, on the contrary, it only become slightly more climate-appropriate. Bilson opts for a great mix of textures and patterns (particularly stripes) chic heels, dress shorts and skirts, and tailored bomber jackets and blazers to create an enviable wardrobe no matter what side of the Mason-Dixon line you grew up on. Catch some chic ensembles Mondays at 8/7c on the CW.
6) Deception
What do you get when you combine a notoriously wealthy New York family, an untimely death, luxury living, and a whole lot of drama? You get your new guilty pleasure, NBC’s new series Deception. In addition to the melodramatic plotline that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat the show is stocked with the tailored, New York looks that we love. We have our eyes set on Meghan Good’s character Joanna for her fashion-forward professional look, including some perfectly fitting trenches and pointed-toe heels. Check it out on Mondays at 10/9 Central on NBC.
7) Gossip Girl
Â
Need we even offer an explanation of this hit melodrama? It goes without saying that viewers tune in for the designer décor from Blaire Waldorf’s preppy sophistiacate to Serena Van Der Woodsen’s downtown chic style, tune in on Mondays at 8/9c on the CW to catch this fashion classic (xoxo).
