There are so many yummy food choices out there and sometimes it is hard to decide what to eat. Not all choices that seem healthy at first glance have the same effects, and most importantly, the same amount of calories.

Sweet Potato vs. Pumpkin: Both look similar and taste yummy but with only 25 calories per serving, the pumpkin definitely won this battle. The sweet potato has 111 calories for the same amount. At least now we don’t have to feel bad anymore when we eat that delicious Thanksgiving pumpkin pie…

Tomato vs. Red pepper: One tomato has 17 calories, while the red pepper almost has the double amount of calories – 30!

Cupcake vs. Mousse au chocolate: Whenever you can’t decide what you want for dessert, and then just think about this interesting fact and it should make it very for you to decide. One cupcake has 425 calories, while the same amount of chocolate mousse only has 154 calories.

Watermelon vs. Banana: Fruit is always good for you, but did you know that there are differences in the amount of calories? The watermelon only has 38 calories, while the banana puts 95 calories on our hips. Lets be honest, doesn’t the watermelon taste so much better anyways?

Fries vs. Mashed potatoes: We all love fries, but after you read this you will wish that the fast food restaurants sell mashed potatoes instead. Fries have 294 calories, while the same serving amount of mashed potatoes only has 82 calories.

Apple vs. Pear: These two fruits ended the battle with a tie; both have the same amount of calories, which are 52.

Avocado vs. Corn: Even though the avocado is the “trendier” vegetable, corn wins this battle of the calories by far. One avocado has 217 calories, while the same amount of corn only has 74.

Pasta vs. White Rice: Most people think that rice is healthier than pasta. In fact, it has less calories but pasta has only around 15 or 18 calories more.
