Boyfriend vs. Boy “space” Friend
Everyone knows the sayings chicks or dicks and hos over bros. But what about when the people you are choosing between are both guys? Your boyfriend and friend that happens to be a boy. Two huge parts of your life, but what if:
1. They are totally opposites:
As long as they are civil and be in the same room together it doesn’t really matter. You were drawn to them both for different reasons and thats ok, not everyone can be best friends.
2. Your boyfriend gets jealous:
That’s his issue not yours. But do be considerate of his feelings, try to avoid situations that you know he wouldn’t like if he walked in on. With this in mind, that jealousy is his problem, try not to have a double standard, because once you label jealousy as an individual issue not a couple issue, you lose the right to by annoyed when he also chooses to hang with friends that are girls.
3. Your friend feels neglected:
If it always seems that you are canceling plans with your best friend, make a standing lunch date. The best way to do it is to make it for right after class that way you have no where else to be. It is the little things that will make your friend feel
4. Your best friend confesses feelings for you:
He doesn’t like the competition for your attention. Therefore he might confuse what his feelings of jealousy mean, it might just means he misses you and thinks the only way to spend time with you again will be if he gets romantic. There is the possibility that the feelings are genuine. Best friends know you inside and out and you couldn’t ask for a better foundation, before you make any move you have to be 100% sure of your decision because neither your beau or best friend deserve to have their feelings jerked around.
If you’re a people pleaser and just want everyone to get along remember one thing, both of these guys have one thing in common – you! And they will want you to be happy above all else. Tis the season for love and lover’s quarrels. So just remember not to run to your boy space friend every time you are mad at your beau and not to ditch your best guy every time your boyfriend wants to see you. XOXOXO
