Being alone on Valentine’s Day sucks. You don’t even need someone to tell you, because you already know that it sucks! It’s like forgetting your lucky pencil before the most important test of the year, waking up late for an interview or accidentally eating a whole gallon of ice cream by yourself, only worse. We’ve all wished that cutie from class would call us and make some dramatic expression or leave us a cute note in our mailbox, but it’s never happened. We all have comforted ourselves, wishing it were someone else.
Suffer no more, Ladies! I bring to you the greatest Valentine’s Day gift you’ll get this year.
He is hot. He wears homeless facial hair like a pro, hangs from Ferris Wheels to ask out his ladies, writes letters every day for a year, fixes up old houses and now he’s here to sing for you on Valentine’s Day because you’re lonely and this will make you feel better. I give to you the one, the only, singing Ryan Gosling. This is a song from the movie Blue Valentine. It was in theaters Valentine’s Day 2010, and it starred Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. The film follows these two characters’ marriage as it falls apart. The plot jumps between the past and the present as they reflect on the golden years of their love. If you’re interested in watching this movie, it’s on Netflix Watch Instantly!
I could end this blog right now, and you will have instantly had a better Valentine’s Day, but I will continue because I like to think I’m better than that. Are we all too young to remember or appreciate the Mickey Mouse Club? A lot of today’s favorite stars like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake started on that show. Did you know that Ryan Gosling was on there, too? While doing some research, I found this video for all you ladies who like a good boy band every now and again. I’ll admit, I even get the Girly Giggles when I watch and listen to this video, and they’re what? Like fourteen in this video? This song is called “Cry for You.” Enjoy, my darlings!
BUT WAIT, there’s more! This last video is of a very young Ryan Gosling in a talent competition. First, you’ll see and hear him sing a little bit of “When a Man Loves a Woman,” and then, out of nowhere, he begins to DANCE. Wow. This is sure to make you feel better today.
The great William Shakespeare wrote in Twelfth Night, “Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.” I think the same can be said about Ryan Gosling’s attractiveness. We can say, “Some are born sexy, some achieve sexy and some have sexy thrust upon them.” All of these are 100% true for Ryan Gosling.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Collegiettes!
