J.T. Menchaca ’15

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Harvard chapter.

Name: J.T. Menchaca

Year: 2015

House: Pforzheimer

Hometown: San Antonio, Texas

Concentration: History and Science

Relationship Status: Single

Favorite HUDS meal: Gotta be that Korean Barbecue.

Describe yourself in three words: Joking, reliable, considerate.

If you could be a superhero, which one would you be and why? Are you saying I’m not a superhero?  I guess my mom has been lying to me this whole time.  I’d have to pick Spider Man.  Besides the fact that he can cruise around New York City on his webs, he’s handsome, strong, smart, saves the day, and always gets the girl.

What are you involved with on campus? A little bit of this and that.  Most of my time is split between playing center-back for the Men’s Club Soccer team and singing and acting in various shows around campus.  I also gotta pay the bills, so with the rest of my time I work for the Harvard College Consulting Group and the computer help clinic in the Science Center.

What is your favorite Harvard memory? Playing all-out tackle football on the Quad Lawn during Nemo earlier this semester.  Soccer is and will always be the real futbol in my heart, but being from southern Texas, snow is pretty new to me and it was perfect for some classic ‘Murican football.

What do you look for in a significant other? I appreciate someone who is considerate, empathetic, and is aware of how the people around her feel.  That being said, I also like a girl who knows how to relax, joke around, and have a good time.  That’s the sweet combo for me.

What is your best physical trait? Definitely my butt.

Describe your ideal date:  As for a first date, I’d pick her up from her house and take her somewhere fun that gives us a lot of time to talk.   If I’m already in relationship, a nice dinner and a show with a long walk afterwards.

Michelle is a senior at Harvard College hailing from Long Island, New York. She is pursuing a degree in Comparative Literature with a minor in English and special focus fields in sleep deprivation and procrastination. At any given moment, you are most likely to find her racking up points on her Starbucks Gold Card, writing by the Charles River, or stalking Boo's latest photo shoot. Michelle couldn't be more excited to be part of the Her Campus team and bring HC to life on Harvard's campus, and she would love to hear from you with any feedback!
