As the first half of the Candlemas semester draws to a close, many are looking forward to Easter break. However before some of us take off to explore in the sun in some far flung corner of Europe, or pack up the suitcases for a trip back home, a few deadlines have to be conquered. From the numbers in the library yesterday many St Andrews students appear to find the working atmosphere of the library a good place to knuckle down. However the regular walk to the library been a bit more lively lately as leaflets, pamphlets or cries of policies have be handed and shouted to us in the line up to the library. Possible heads of schools, association presidents and other elected university positions have all been touting the daily commuters on their way to the library for precious votes, with some even offering free cookies! This is the St Andrews week of Student body elections. While only those reading the subject can vote for their respective Head of School, the elections for association president to vote is open for all; a moment that we as the student body can decide which of the many qualified candidates will be given the opportunity to remain in St Andrews for a further year, overseeing the remodelling of the new Student Union and many other important new developments. The candidates all seem incredibly capable and all exhausted with campaigning and hope we all will take the time to appreciate their efforts and follow the link to vote!
