Michelle Baldwin has an accessories comapany called Nepali by TDM. The company works with a community of women in Nepal who make beautiful hand-made scarves. For their hard work, the women receive above-market wages, access to healthcare, and educational scholarships for their children. Over the past 5 years, Michelle has sent 65 percent of the company’s profits back to Nepal to help these women break the cycle of poverty! Michelle designs all of the scarves here in the US, and her partners in Nepal bring those designs to life.
Next month, they’re running a contest to find the next scarf design to include in their next line. They’re looking for submissions from anyone, regardless of fashion or design background. The winner of the contest will have their design handmade by our partners in Nepal and incorporated into the Nepali by TDM line of scarves! She will also receive one of the scarves they’ve designed and the scarf will be named after her! If you are interested in designing a scarf, don’t hesitate to do so!
