Sexual Assault Awareness Week April 1-7

This week, the Boston University’s Sexual Assault Awareness Week (SAAW) kicks off to educate the community about the prevalence and prevention of sexual assault. Starting Monday, April 1st, workshops and panels will be presented throughout campus. Various on-campus and off-campus organizations have worked to make this week possible, including the Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Center (SARP), Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, BU’s Voices for Choice (VOX), BU’s Women of Color Coalition (WOCC), BU’s Feminist Collective, BU’s Queer Activist Collective and the Center for Gender, Sexuality and Activism.

Here’s what the week looks like:

April 1st

VOX’s Hollaback! Boston presents “Anti-Street Harassment” Workshop

5:30 – 7:30 pm in the Center for Gender, Sexuality and Activism

How can we end street harassment in which LGBTQ and people of color are targets?

SARP’s Clothesline Project Kickoff

10 AM – 4 PM in the George Sherman Union Link

Queer Activist Collective’s Panel on Sexual Assault in the Queer Community
