Food Findings: Rialto

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

As much as you may be in denial about it, for roughly one-fourth of collegiates, these are your last few days as a certified undergrad (sorry for the reminder). Of course, that means that you’ll be moving out on your own (unless you plan on moving back home) and having to cook for yourself. If you’re anything like me, you spent every second you could in the dining hall or GSU, eating food someone else cooked for you to enjoy.

No more. Now you’ll have to fend for yourself. Luckily, there are some awesome restaurants in Boston that are cheap, good, and even give lessons so if you happen to need to cook for yourself one day, you’ll have the ability to.

One such restaurant if Rialto, where they have deals like $1 Oysters on Mondays (yum, seafood that isn’t the dining hall mussels!) and $10 gourmet burgers on Sundays. If you’re looking to actually fend for yourself (after four years in college, who isn’t?) you can take monthly lessons from the owner, Jody, who gives a student discount and, for those who are of age, sample dishes and wine servings at the end of each lesson. Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll be dating someone in the real world and actually have to make them a meal, in which case, knowing how to would be a huge plus.

With adorable outdoor seating so you can enjoy the weather that has FINALLY decided to show up, you can even entice your parents into going there for a handsome, post-grad celebration (or sob-fest, your choice) of great Italian food and wine. Bonus points if you choose to bring along your siblings.

It’s also a great place to check out if you’re an undergrad looking for something awesome to eat that isn’t the dining hall or hint hint looking to take Mom somewhere special. Sitting right across the river in Cambridge, you have no excuse not to head over this Spring and enjoy the food, weather, and some good company!

Need even more convincing? We’re giving away a $25 giftcard to Rialto to one lucky reader! Enter your info below by Wednesday, May 8 for a chance to win:
