How to Wear: Lana Del Ray

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Over the past few days I’ve been playing Lana Del Rey’s “Videogames” over and over again. If you haven’t heard of her yet, I’m sure it wouldn’t have been long before you came across her. Both a star in the music industry and the fashion world, the girl is showing up everywhere. If you’re planning on seeing the highly anticipated rendition of The Great Gatsby, you’ll be hearing her sultry voice with the movie’s kick-off song “Young and Beautiful.” And after her collaboration with H&M for their winter ads, the fashion world has fallen for her unique 1960s style: romantic pieces mixed with a touch of modern Hollywood. Needless to say I’ve fallen for the her original look.

Here’s some Lana Del Rey outfits that you can use to inspire your own style!

Peachy Keen

I love how sweet and innocent Lana’s color combo is in these shots – not to mention the pale hue is perfect for spring. Lana can definitely pull off the monochromatic thing, but, honestly, I think I’d look like a crayon if I did that. Split up your peach hues with a darker top and lighter jeans. Add some pretty pearl earrings and a few bangles and you’re ready to go.

Black and White

The black and white combo was huge on the Spring 2013 runways. And of course Lana pulls it off effortlessly. White high-waisted shorts, a lace button up and a black sun hat is a perfect outfit for a spring day.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

This is by far my favorite Lana outfit – it’s so versatile. Wear it with flats to class or wear it with heels out to dinner. And the fact that its all available and affordable from H&M makes it that much better.

It's my first year at UW-Madison and I couldn't be happier. With school, friends, writing, tweeting, pinning, online shopping, eating, drinking coffee, sleeping, LAUGHING, and loving - life is bueno. And, I mean, I create outfits and write about them on one of the greatest websites for college ladies. How could it get any better?
