We all love a good joke once in a while about country-pop singer Taylor Swift and her seemingly endless carousel of boyfriends, but did Abercrombie & Fitch maybe go a little too far?
A&F originally launched a Taylor Swift shirt with the line, “#More boyfriends than t.s.” While it was done as a harmless joke poking fun at the singer, “Swifties,” as the singer’s fans are known, didn’t stand for it. They went so far as to start a petition on Change.org demanding that A&F pull the shirts as the design disrespected Swift.
Within a few days, the petition had 130 signatures from Swift fans all over the world. In response, A&F stopped selling the shirts.
A&F has since tweeted back and reiterated their love for T-Swift, who actually modeled for them about ten years ago as part of their Abercrombie Rising Stars campaign.
Unfortunately for Abercrombie, this isn’t the only controversy to hit them in recent times. Another petition targeted A&F last month demanding that the company give up their anti-plus-size stance.
