With the swap of seasons comes the swapping of nail polish colors, traditionally from more bright and poppy hues for summer, to darker, richer ones in the Fall. With the onslaught of Fall nail polish collections recently released and inspiration from the runway we predict some fun and festive nail trends are on the horizon. Read on to see what nail trends collegiettes can sport, to prepare for the new season.
1. Matte Nails
The most popular trend dotting the runways for the Fall was not any color in particular. In fact, it’s not a polish color at all, rather it was a top coat layer that adorned models fingertips – a matte top coat. Add a layer onto the nail polish shade of your choice (we suggest black like Black Onyx from OPI or dark red like Red Silk Boxers from Essie). 2. Bluish and Greenish Shades of Grey
Grey shades are always popular in the Fall season, possibly for their subdued look and complimentary match to other popular Fall colors. Last year, purple grey was hot, this year we are thinking that the grey shades that are going to be popular will be a little more green. 3. Reptilian Scales
By now we are all well aware that nail trends do not just pertain to shades. On the contrary our nails have becomes little palettes with which we may accessorize. The third nail trend is not a color, but a texture that we think we will add a little bit of sass to any outfit. 4. Asphalt grey

5. Burgundy

6. Golden Accents
Forget French manicures, this season is all about accenting in gold. 7. Shimmering and Sparkly Silver Shades
Maybe it’s the holidays or the darker colors emerging in the fashion scene, but with the chill often comes a little bit of frill. 8. Nail Caviar
The newest nail art trend to emerge on store shelves is seemingly more upscale: nail caviar. Do not worry collegiettes, this caviar is NOT ACTUALLY REAL. Instead, “nail caviar” defines an array of playful gems that you can adorn your nails with.
