Hometown and What You Love About It: West Middletown: 144 people, 3 churches. 
 
Areas of Study and Why You Chose Them:
International Studies and Environmental Policy. I chose International Studies because I love languages and traveling. Environmental Policy because I want to work in rural third world communities, teaching villagers how to be 100% sustainable, and how to market that. 
 
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
 Laughlin, because my ukulele is there by my bed. 
 
 
Favorite Movies: My Cousin Vinny, Mean Girls, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, and The Breakfast Club
 
Favorite TV Shows: Orange Is The New Black, 30 Rock, and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers 
 
Favorite Books: White Teeth, The Great Gatsby, and Hello Vodka, It’s Me, Chelsea
 
Favorite Food: SpaghettiO’s
 
Favorite Musicians/Bands: That guy on the street with some spoons and his friend with an old cider jug. Also, Regina Spektor, Amanda Palmer, and Ani DiFranco.

Mara Flanagan is entering her seventh semester as a Chapter Advisor. After founding the Chatham University Her Campus chapter in November 2011, she served as Campus Correspondent until graduation in 2015. Mara works as a freelance social media consultant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She interned in incident command software publicity at ADASHI Systems, gamification at Evive Station, iQ Kids Radio in WQED’s Education Department, PR at Markowitz Communications, writing at WQED-FM, and marketing and product development at Bossa Nova Robotics. She loves jazz, filmmaking and circus arts.
