I Interned for a Fellow Fordham Student!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

This summer I had the unique opportunity of interning for a fellow Fordham student. I completed a remote internship with The Smart Girls Group, a network founded and run by GSB sophomore Emily Raleigh!

The Smart Girls Group proudly runs an internship program that is designed to meet the career goals of its interns. Rather than you adapting to their internship program, their internship program adapts to you and your interests. In my case, The Guide, The Smart Girls Group’s digital magazine, met my interest in journalism and magazines. This summer I worked closely with Emily to analyze past issues of the magazine in preparation for the relaunch this fall.

This internship is also unique because everything is communicated via email. This made it easier for me to complete the internship and still work part-time all summer. I have now accepted a new position within The Smart Girls Group and am excited to continue working with Emily and her team!

Was it strange working for a fellow student? I’d have to say no. If anything, it was an amazing networking opportunity and has enhanced my experience as a Fordham student.
