Meet Clarissa Schwab, aka Campus Celebrity extraordinaire (Full disclosure: she is also my roommate. It’s an unlikely pairing.). An actress and behind-the-scenes gal in numerous plays on campus, Clarissa is directing next semester’s “Show Some Skin,” a show presenting monologues anonymously submitted by members of the student body. Clarissa shares her experience of being Texan in the Midwest and how she has made ND her own home.

Year:

Sophomore, Class of 2016

Major:

“The Dismal Science” AKA Economics along with FTT (Theatre). Obviously the most complementary of double major combos.

Hometown:

Heaven on Earth, known to outsiders as San Antonio, Texas.

Dorm:

Farley Hall

Favorite dining hall food?

I love exotic grains, quinoa vegetable stew, and pasta stir-fry. Yum.

What is a school activity of which you’re most proud?

Last spring, I acted in “Show Some Skin: It’s Complicated.” It was the most rewarding experience to be the voice for stories that would otherwise go unheard. Be on the lookout for “Show Some Skin: BE BOLD” in the spring of 2014!

Favorite ND experience so far?

Definitely the 2012 football season. There is nothing quite like an undefeated season.

Dream Job?

Saturday Night Live cast member!

What do you look for in a romantic relationship?

Mostly a good sense of humor.

How have you changed since coming to ND?

Inspired by my vegetarian roommate, I cut meat out of my Notre Dame diet. As a girl from Texas, that’s a big deal!

Best compliment you’ve ever received?

“You’re hilarious.”

Biggest challenge you’ve faced at ND?

Making time for everything! There are simply not enough hours in the day to take advantage of all the cool things on campus!

Most peaceful moment on campus?

The moment after I finished my last final exam of the 2013 spring semester. It was beautiful.

Cats or dogs?

Cats. Cats all day. Don’t get me wrong, dogs are cute, but I’m an old cat lady at heart.
