September: synonymous with sweaters, anything “pumpkin spice” and the unveiling of the newest iPhone.
That’s right… Apple has (yet again) reintroduced “cool” with not one, but two iPhones this Fall. The company released the oh-so-chic 5S and the colorful 5C, both technically refined and expanded versions of last year’s iPhone 5 on September 20.
Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we?
iPhone 5S
- $199 for 16GB with Plan
- Available in Gold, Silver, and Space Gray
- 10-Hour 3G Talk Battery Life
- 4” Retina Display
- 8 MP iSight, 5-Element Lens Camera
- True Tone Flash with two LEDs Amber and White LED Flash
- A7, 64-bit Processor
- Fingerprint Scanner? You got it
iPhone 5C:
- $99 for 16GB with Plan
- Availabe in White, Pink, Yellow, Green, and Blue
- 10-Hour 3G Talk Battery Life
- 4” Retina Display
- 8MP iSight Camera
- LED Flash
- A6 Processor
All in all, Apple’s iPhone 5C is offering what much of society has been expressing desire for: more advanced, affordable technology. Though by doing so, the company has simultaneously created division. The classic, and literal, case of gold vs. yellow.
What do you think? Is the juxtaposition between the 5S and 5C creating yet another layer of status symbols?
