On October 18th New Jersey courts agreed to cease inhibiting the process to legalize same-sex marriage. One more appeal remains and, if struck down, New Jersey will become the fourteen state in the union to legalize same-sex marriage:
“The State has advanced a number of arguments, but none of them overcome this reality: same-sex couple who cannot marry are not treated equally under the law today. The harm to them is real, not abstract or speculative.”
-Chief Justice Rabner
