Last year, Her Campus USF reached out to Britney Spears by writing a heartfelt letter letting her know that we were patiently awaiting her comeback. Well, we are just going to go ahead and take credit for “Ooh La La,” “Work B**ch” and the rumored 2014 tour that Britney is planning. Yes, collegiettes™, Britney is back and has displayed the perfect balance between the old and new Brit. You’re welcome.
When Britney released “Ooh La La,” we were thrilled to see her adorable boys in the video. Britney’s innocent dancing with the Smurfs seriously resembled the Britney from “Baby, One More Time” and we couldn’t help but shriek with excitement. It wasn’t long after that Britney announced a new single to come out, “Work B**ch.” People were skeptical, but we knew it wouldn’t be anything less than perfect.
When a horrible audio version of the new song leaked, critics stepped right up and began dissing Brit, but true fans stayed away from the audio until Britney released it herself. Which she did via Twitter, only 24 hours later.. That wasn’t the only instance she took to Twitter about this song though. On Oct. 13 she told Congress to “…get to #WorkBxxCH” in reference to the government shutdown. Oh, how we adore you, Britney.
We are excited to see what Britney has in store for us this coming year, but for now we will continue singing along to “Ooh La La” and “Work B**ch,” as we know you will too.
