The Morning After: Halloween Costumes in the Light of Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Halloween: It’s always a crazy night, but don’t disregard your morning walk back home. Halloween falls on a Thursday this year…that means Friday morning the row will have its fair share of shame (or fame… depending on your night and personal standards) walkers.

Don’t be the one with make-up smeared all over her face and hair still half-curled and hair-sprayed from the last night’s festivities! Pack a purse: Include some make-up removing wipes and a toothbrush. If you have thick enough hair to rock a sock bun, then do it! You’ll look at least somewhat put together in less than a minute.

While your leather pants or hot pink tutu undoubtably look fabulous and totally appropriate (or not–that being the point) on Halloween night, they are sure to stand out and cause some ridicule from onlookers the next morning. Pack a pair of leggings and a simple white tee or an oversized sweater for your walk back. (If you know where you are spending the night, drop your bag off first, or leave it in a friend’s room while you decide which lucky man will have the pleasure of your company for the evening.) You’ll be comfortable and chic, and could even casually stroll into Dunkin or Starbucks for your morning coffee without even the slightest hint of the fact that you are mid-walk-of-shame. Work it.
