Enthusiastic, driven, and passionate are only a few words that describe Alissa Ranger, the UMich Campus Representative for Victoria’s Secret PINK. I was able to talk to Alissa and hear about all of the awesome opportunities with which this position has presented her. Read on to learn more about the PINK Street Team on campus and get to know Alissa!
HC: What are you studying?
AR: I am a junior double majoring in Communication Studies and International Studies.
HC: What other extracurriculars are you involved in?
AR: In addition to being a Campus Intern, I am a sister of Alpha Delta Pi and committed member of Young Life College.
HC: Tell us about your position as a Campus Representative for Victoria’s Secret PINK. What do you do?
AR: With my position, I have a wide range of responsibilities. Basically, I plan and execute all PINK events on campus while also leading a PINK Street Team of 15 girls. All social media and advertising efforts fall under my control as well so I’m sure you probably see me blowing up your newsfeed with the latest on PINK!
HC: What’s the best part about your position? I bet you get some awesome perks!
AR: YES! Not only do I truly love my position, but the PINK freebies I receive are a definite plus! I really enjoy coming up with creative ways to distribute PINK gear to girls on campus. Every time I give girls freebies, they have the biggest smile on their face. It is evident that girls on campus really LOVE PINK!
HC: How do you hope to apply this experience to your career?
AR: I hope to pursue a career in marketing communications. Therefore, this position is incredibly applicable to my future aspirations. When it comes to the event planning portion of my job, it is very fast-paced and detail-oriented. You have to be a go-getter with this position–juggling several different PINK tasks isn’t always easy!
HC: Are there any upcoming events planned?
AR: We actually just had a PINK Party on October 26 to focus on PINK’s new Date Bra & Panty Collection. I am already working on our next event: Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Viewing Party!
