Pink Shabbat, co-sponsored by Her Campus F&M, Colleges Against Cancer, the Women’s Center, and Chabad at F&M was a great success! Everything was pink, from the drinks to the food to the plates to the napkins to the silverware! There were even little candies on each plate (that were pink of course!) to help sweeten the meal. I’m not going to lie, everything was super delicious!

However, Pink Shabbat focused on a very serious matter: Breast Cancer Awareness. One of the hosts of the dinner, Rabbi Elazar Green, noted that among Jewish women of European decent, there is a very high risk of Breast Cancer and the mutation of two genes, BRCA1 and BRCA2. He encouraged every woman, Jewish or not, to get tested for Breast Cancer, because of the fact that the earlier it is caught, the easier it is to fight. He also encouraged women who have a family history of Breast Cancer to know about their family history and to make sure they are vigiliant about the possibility of Breast Cancer.

Thanks to everyone for a great dinner, and ladies, be sure to know your ta-tas!

When not hard at work, you can find me writing, reading, geeking out over Disney movies with my friends, or doing art projects.
