As someone who loves high fashion, I love gawking at all of the latest runway trends. However, I sometimes find it difficult trying to incorporate the season’s hottest trends into my wardrobe – without going downright bankrupt. Admit it: we’ve all envied one thing or the other (or maybe EVERYTHING) we’ve seen on the runway, and wished we could somehow afford it. Well, Collegiette’s, I have come to your rescue! As of late, I love finding pieces that look like I bought them straight off the runway – all for a third of the price. I mean, who wouldn’t want to look as if they had just walked off a runway? I think we all know the answer to that. Here are 3 of fall’s must-have trends that are runway-inspired, and their more affordable alternatives:

Classy Pearls – As seen on Christian Dior and Lanvin, pearl necklaces are a trend that will never go out of style. This Lanvin Pearl & Crystal Multi-Strand Necklace (pictured below) retails for $1,745. Looking to channel your inner Grace Kelly without draining your entire savings account? Try this Long Station Necklace from Givenchy. At a cost of $100, you’ll be saving yourself a whole lot of money by purchasing this Lanvin look-alike.  Layer the necklace for a bold look, or tie a black bow onto the side to really make it look as if you bought it from the high-end designer brand. You can also dress it up or down, allowing you to get the most bang for your buck.

Polka Dots – Miu Miu and Tommy Hilfiger were huge fans of the whole polka dot trend, being that they incorporated the fun and flirty pattern into the majority of pieces showcased in their fall shows. The best part about this pattern? You can wear it any age. Miu Miu’s silk crepe de Chine blouse retails for $595, or a month’s worth of rent. If you want to avoid getting evicted, try this similar (and cheaper) version from Chaus for $69. Not only will you be saving a significant amount of money, you also have the choice of picking from two different colors. It’s a win-in situation!

Metallic Accents – Whether it be on your jewelry or heels, metallic accents can give any outfit an automatic boost. These Double Buckle Strap Pumps by Prabal Gurung retail for $1,800 – a little too expensive for a Collegiette on a budget, don’t ya think? If you’re looking for a simpler look, opt for a more affordable version with these Steve Madden Marlen-M pumps, which cost a mere $99.95. Sign up to receive Steve Madden e-mail notifications and you’ll receive a 10% off coupon on your first order. What are you waiting for, Collegiettes? Shop ‘til you drop!
