Literally every day in high school my best friend and I had the same conversation: why do we choose to procrastinate so much? We would joke about how Dr. Drew needed to have a procrastination rehab for us and so on. I would always tell myself that this would change in college; I was going to be so on top of my work that I would never have time to procrastinate. (Yeah, that was the biggest lie ever.) While I’m not a total slacker, I find myself procrastinating hardcore from time to time. Last year I found my new love Netflix, but I’m a movie junkie and it is my prime form of procrastination. If you’re obsessed with movies like me or are looking for another form of procrastination, check out these eight movies that are some of my favorites.

1. Harry Potter Weekend

Is it just me, or is there a Harry Potter weekend on every single time I have a lot of homework to do? While I’m a huge HP nerd and own all the movies, if it is on TV then I am on the couch all day watching it.

2. Titanic

I know a lot of people dislike this movie, and I seriously have no idea how. I’ve been in love with it since I was four and still cannot get enough. Yeah, it’s super long, but it’s Leonardo DiCaprio in his prime! Also, when people try to make you feel bad for spending nearly three hours of your life watching it, you can pull the historic card. Despite the Jack and Rose part (which I still believe is true), this is a major historical event so your three hours spent watching it were essentially educational!

3. Warrior

As we all know, Netflix is notorious for its horrible movie selection, which is why finding Warrior on there was very surprising. While I am not a fan of MMA at all, I fell in love with this movie over the summer; I had it on Netflix every day at work. Yes, it is about two brothers fighting MMA, but the family drama is essentially the plot of the film. If all of my guy friends were crying by the end of it, you know it’s a moving movie.

4. This is the End

This may have been one of the dumbest movies I have ever sat through; however, it was also one of the funniest. With the cast consisting of Craig Robinson, Seth Rogen, and Jonah Hill just to name a few, how could it not be funny? If you’re a fan of Superbad and Pineapple Express, this is definitely a must watch.

5. One Direction Concert Movie

I am such a 1D fan girl; it’s not normal. In my mind, they can do no wrong. I feel like because I was too young to participate in the Backstreet Boys craze that I’m allowed to be involved in this one. Last year, instead of studying for finals, my best friend and I decided to spend the night watching the concert movie (that I actually brought to school) while I danced around and sang with my boys. I still have no shame while writing this, even though most of you reading this probably think I should.

6. D3: The Mighty Ducks

Even though this movie came out the year I was born (and I probably didn’t watch it until ten years later), I LOVE IT. Who didn’t have a crush on Charlie Conway? This movie is such a throwback that it makes your procrastination seem so necessary and nostalgic.

7. Step Brothers (or any Will Ferrell movie)

I sincerely believe this movie is tied with Mean Girls on being the most quoted movie ever. The first time I watched it (I hate to admit it), I thought it was dumb. I saw zero humor and wondered why the guy I saw it with thought it was the funniest thing he had ever seen. I gave it a chance a year later, and now I can’t get enough. I watched this movie so much (countless times over Christmas break last year), that I still cry from laughing so hard despite knowing exactly what’s going to happen.

8. The Breakfast Club

If you haven’t seen this 80’s classic, get off the Internet, and go find a copy of it. I really have no words for this movie other than it is a classic. Also, what’s funny about it is that a good chunk of the movie has the characters in the library, and while you’re procrastinating watching it, that’s technically where you should be…
