The registration for the DC Nike Women’s Half Marathon has opened! The race is in April but registering now can get you a student discount on the entry fee. We are lucky enough to have campus representatives of the race to provide us with check out codes for a discount on the race fee! Here is a message from Kaileen Dougherty, one of the two campus representatives:

Hey American Univerity Her Campus readers! How does a free Tiffany’s necklace and NIKE gear sound? Get excited, because registration for the DC NIKE Women’s Half Marathon has opened! This year the race will be held on April 27, 2014. For a limited time, there is a discounted student registration fee, so let me know if you are interested in saving. Register through the college program using “KAILEEN” to save! This code expires on November 22, so use it as soon as possible. Training for the race is a great way to promote sisterhood and a great cause, which is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Chapters across the country empower their sisters by supporting this incredible event. If running in a race has ever crossed your mind or topped your bucket list, registering for the previously sold out Nike Half Marathon is your perfect opportunity to accomplish your goal! Or if you like running, this is great cause and reason to do it too. The NIKE Running app makes it easy to train by April, and sisterhood training events are in the works.

Shoot me a Facebook message if you’d like more information! From big name live entertainment to major attractions and more, this year’s race will not have a single dull moment. Did I mention the ROTC men who will be at the finish line in tuxedos to give you your necklaces?

Please contact me with any questions so you can register with your student discount. Visit the Facebook page for more information. HAPPY RUNNING!
