5 Things You Need to Bring With You for Winter Break

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Winter break is coming up faster than you think! Since you’ll be out of your dorm for a month or so, it’s important to make sure you have all your essentials with you. Here are five winter break essentials we recommend you bring home with you this year:

1. A good book

Who doesn’t love snuggling up by the fireplace with a good book? If you need recommendations, try out The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald or The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (all of which have been or will be made into films!), as well as J.K. Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy or The Cuckoo’s Calling. If you still can’t decide, check out Amazon’s list of best sellers!

2. Winter accessories

Of course you can’t forget your winter accessories! Since you’ve probably already pulled them out for chilly fall days, make sure you don’t forget to pack them up again for your trip home. Remember your scarves, gloves, wool socks, hats and umbrella to stay dry and warm this break!

3. Your favorite holiday movies

Use your time at home to catch up on your favorite cheesy Christmas movies – or even better, plan a movie night with your high school friends! Choose a cute rom-com like Love Actually, bring back memories with How the Grinch Stole Christmas or have a laugh and watch Elf.

4. A Pinterest account

If you’re short on money for holiday gifts this year, have no fear! Create a Pinterest account and check out a ton of adorable DIY gifts, decorations and recipes for the holidays. You’ll never be bored this winter break!

5. Good luggage to keep it all in

Most colleges send students home for more than a month, so you’ll have to pack up most of your dorm! Make sure you have good, sturdy luggage to keep all your essentials in. Samsonite has a great variety of luggage that can fit all of your collegiette needs, from laptop bags, backpacks and iPad covers to big roller bags and duffels!

These are just a few tips to make your break a little more fun, crafty and easy! Check out more book ideas on Amazon, DIY activities on Pinterest and cute and convenient bags on Samsonite to complete your winter break checklist. Happy vacationing!
