In this week’s entertainment news, there have been quite a few videos circulating the web, gaining millions of hits in the process. Among the most popular are some drunken shenanigans involving stolen animals, a popstar filmed sleeping by a prostitute and a legendary funnyman seemingly killing an elderly actress.
Last week some pictures and videos ended up on Facebook and Twitter of a group of French teenagers and a llama attempting to take public transportation. After spending a night out at a club, the group wandered into a closed circus and soon wandered out with a stolen llama. They then proceeded to take the llama, who they named Serge, onto a train. However, passengers soon alerted train officials of the incident and the group was later arrested and Serge was brought back to the circus. Over the weekend, Sacha Baron Cohen was awarded the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy at the Britannia Awards in Los Angeles. Grace Cullington, the only surviving actor to have worked with Chaplin, gifted Cohen Chaplin’s famous cane. While goofing off with it on stage, Cohen seemingly slipped, sending Cullington flying off the stage and onto the ground. The old woman appeared lifeless and was soon carried off to be “revived.” Cohen then began his speech, making it clear that it was all in fact a prank, saying, “Grace Cullington is the oldest, no, sorry, was the oldest surviving [Chaplin costar]. I dedicate my award to her. This is obviously a tragedy. She has upstaged me. Lastly, the biggest story this week has been the video filmed by a rumored Brazilian prostitute of a sleeping Justin Bieber, implying the two spent the night together. After a concert in the country, Bieber allegedly had a small after party and the girl in question, Tati Neves, was one of those invited. Neves is a 27 year old model from Rio de Janeiro who has shot down rumors that she was a prostitute who was paid to sleep with the 19 year old singer. The video was taken and sent to a friend and eventually made its way onto the internet.
