Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

There was no guessing about the weather’s actions while we were sound asleep Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Going anywhere that morning was like walking through a settled snow globe. Almost-bare tree limbs balanced snow, car windows were hidden underneath snow, our hair and coats turned white with snow. Snowflakes tumbled onto our tongues, and memories of making snowballs, snowmen, and hot cocoa with marshmallows filled our thoughts. Concentrating in class is challenging when the world was so full of magic.

During this time, everyone reached for their phones, which led to Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook feeds filled with trees and sidewalks, buildings and the sky, all covered in our first snowfall of the season.

Here’s what a few of our snow-loving Collegiettes saw Tuesday morning:

Graduate Resident Director Ana K. Torres captured this not-yet-bare tree outside Benedum Campus Center! The red leaves add an element of complexity to the juxtaposition of dark and light colors.

Her Campus WVWC Style Blogger Andrea Shepherd captured the snow in those big trees near the library. The border of snowflakes is so appropriate for our winter wonderland!

Sophomore nursing student Ashley Cooper captured the snowy bench and tree in the Quad between Fleming and McCuskey. The bench gives us an idea of how much snow we got during the night hours.

Her Campus WVWC Editor-in-Chief Ashley Young posted this picture of a sidewalk surrounded by snowy grass and snow-covered trees! It’s amazing how she captured what we were so quick to pass up on our way to class!

Junior art major Carolyn Snyder has the treetop’s view of the snow. It really makes it look like we’re looking out the back porch into the woods on a chilly winter morning. It’s perfect for hot chocolate by the fire!

Junior elementary education major Lily Kurfman caught Wesley Chapel and the oval. Looks like old John Wesley can take the chill really well! He’s out there—rain, shine, or snow!

Freshman theatre major Olivia Hancock sent us this picture from outside Loar! The sky will always tell you when it’s going to snow. It casts a pale gray, almost white color.

Senior English major Shelby Hughes sends us this giant, snow-covered tree! Some people think trees without leaves aren’t beautiful, but Shelby shows us that a tree will always find something to wear, no matter what the season. No matter what the tree chooses to wear, it can put any of our outfits to shame!

This is a picture I caught from the window in my room. Would you look at that sky? Look how it frames all that is connected to the ground here.

What did you see? Send us your first snow pictures on our Twitter or Facebook!
