Lining the brick streets of the Mayfaire Town Center, is a small, modern and clean clothing store known as Fedora Boutique. Fedora is a franchise of six trendy clothing boutiques, the Fedora Company originally opened in 2001.

In 2011, owner Kalpana Deedwania opened the Mayfaire location—she owns the Raleigh, Apex, Greenville and Carraboro locations, as well.

Fedora focuses on giving their customers comfortable, stylish clothing. To make sure they stay on top of things–the Mayfaire location receives one to two new shipments of clothing a week.

“We like to keep the store fresh by changing displays around quite often to showcase our newest items,” Store Manager Amy Ballenger says.

This fall, Fedora has received several pieces to get you into the holiday spirit.

“My favorite pieces are among the special occasion variety,” Ballenger says.

Three different styles of black rompers with long, sheer wide-legs have hit the shelf—each romper is designed with a specific detail.

The Flash Forward Romper ($59 online) is perfect for any special event, the long sheer legs have shorts underneath so just the right amount of skin is visible. A sheer bodice embellished with gold dots connects to the sheer legs making this outfit a hit—pair it with black stilettos to complete the look.

You can also find several graphic-print blouses, over-the-knee black flat boots and of course—sweaters! Find the trendy sweater you’re looking for, whether it is a sweater with faux leather insets, an Aztec print sweater, a cropped waterfall cardigan or a sweater jacket, Fedora has it.

This fall leather is in and Fedora is here to help with faux-leather leggings, t-shirts, dresses and jackets crowding their racks this season.

“We carry full-on faux leather dresses, jackets and leggings but we also offer cute tops that have leather panels,” Ballenger says.

All of the “leather” Fedora carries is vegan-friendly.

As far as colors go, Emerald green is definitely trending. Pantone dubbed the rich green color as the Color of the Year for 2013. So, anything green is hot for this fall season.

“My personal favorite is forest green which we have in military jackets, comfy stretch knits and silk blouses,” Ballenger says. “Some other great colors are deep purple, maroon, teal and mustard,” she says.

Head over to the Mayfaire shopping center and deck out your wardrobe in bold fall colors. Students can take advantage of the fashion-forward inventory on Tuesdays—every Tuesday students receive a 10 percent discount with a valid college I.D.
