At this point in the semester, things for students are really getting hectic. Finals are approaching and the holidays may bring feelings of homesickness. By this time you and your roommate have passed the honeymoon phase and tensions may be rising in the room. The problems don’t end there, maybe there was a bad essay grade or relationship stress. It seems as if everything is hitting the fan all at one time. Sound like you?

As college students it easy to become overwhelmed, especially this time of the year. We have to remember to take care of ourselves and that means our mind and spirit too. You body has important needs like sleep and proper nutrition. We have to remember to maintain healthy practices for the other parts of our being as well.

Luckily, we Scotties have quite a few resources to help us take care or our total selves.

Wellness Wednesdays

Be on the look out for posters and in the Irvine for “Wellness Wednesdays”. There a variety of wellness tools made available such as mediation and wellness tip info sessions

Counseling Services

Though many people are hesitant there is nothing wrong with needing a little help. If you’re feeling like you may need to speak to someone, make an appointment with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at the Hopkins Wellness Center. It is a great free resource that can help you take care of your total being.
