Looking for something fun to do in Boston this winter? Embrace the cold weather and spend the night at one of the best outdoor ice rinks around! The Boston Common Frog Pond is now open for public skating, and I, for one, am very excited. It’s open daily, from 10-4 on Mondays, 10-9 Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10-10 Fridays and Saturdays and 10-9 on Sundays. For $5.00 you can have hours of fun with your friends, (possibly making fools out of yourselves as you try to stand up without walls to help), or even make it into a cute date night! The best part of all this is that there are COLLEGE NIGHTS every Tuesday after 6 PM where you can skate for only $2.00, with a student ID!

Skate rentals are $9.00 for the day, so if you have any old skates laying around in your attic, dust them off over winter break and bring them back to school to avoid rental prices. If not, it’s still totally worth it.

If you have no idea how to skate but really want to take advantage of this awesome winter activity without embarrassing yourself, (which, by the way, is always part of the fun), check out the skating lessons offered there by the Skating Club of Boston. You can choose to take a private one-on-one lesson, or share the experience with your friends by taking a group lesson.
