Becoming a new member of your sorority is one of the most exciting things you’ll experience in college. On bid day, you get flooded with friend requests, bombarded with sorority-specific cheers, and loved on by more people than you knew existed. You also get a ton of new sorority gear to wear all around campus! When I went through the process, I also made sure to invest in some of my own sorority gear from my favorite stores. I’d been eyeing the Lilly prints for ages, and I just couldn’t wait to finally get my hands on a KD phone case! So if you’re like me and cannot wait to start loading up on sorority-specific accessories, make sure to go on a major shopping spree after bid day! After going through the long, stressful process of recruitment, you TOTALLY deserve it!

Agenda Sticker Set, $6

Almost all of us have Lilly Pulitzer agendas. So why not get some Greek-specific stickers to match? I love how the stickers don’t just apply to sorority activities- there are ones for mani/pedis, date nights, and birthday parties. Even though it might not seem like it at times, us sorority girls do get out of our houses to hang out with other friends. This sticker set reflects a well-balanced sorority girl, and in my opinion, it’s a must for all new members!

Murfette Scarf, $48

Now really, who can resist a pretty scarf?? The answer is NO ONE. My Lilly scarf was easily one of my favorite investments. And when I became older and wiser, I even passed the scarf on to my little, so it’s really a gift (to yourself) that keeps on giving. Most sororities have a Lilly print, so definitely consider buying at least something within the collection. The scarf is just a personal recommendation, especially considering how cold it’s been lately!

I Love Sorority Sticker, $2.95

You’ll probably get a sorority sticker on bid day, but we all know that it’s going directly on your computer the second you get back to your dorm. That’s what I did, and then I was left without a sticker for my car! Even if you don’t have your car on campus, you’re going to want to put a sticker on it at home, especially if it will be making the trip to campus one day. So consider buying one now- they’re cheap, and you’re shopping anyways, right?

A-List Charm Cluster Necklace, $29.95

Charm necklaces are always fun, so why not invest in a sorority-specific one?! There’s definitely no shame in buying one for yourself, but if you happen to have joined the same sorority as your best friend, it might be fun to buy a necklace for her! Especially because the message on this particular one is cute and kind of perfect for your BFF. Save it for her birthday or surprise her with it a few weeks from now when she’s stressed about balancing work and sorority commitments. She’ll love you even more!

Mason Jar Mug, $11.95

Mason jars are a staple in the South. Mugs are a stylish way to stay hydrated while studying at your desk. So mason jar + mug + sorority print = sheer perfection. I don’t even need to explain why this is a must, so just go buy it and instantly become the envy of everyone on your hall!

Keep in mind, you’re going to get a TON of new stuff from your future big. But it’s never a bad thing to get a little head start on the shopping! ;) Enjoy and congrats on joining a sorority!!!

Good food (especially from Sweet Cece's, Bricktops, and Samurai Sushi), great books (The Hypnotist's Love Story is a recent favorite), her family back in Florida, her wonderful boyfriend, and all of the great friends she's made at Vanderbilt.
