It seems like the Winter break vacation went by super fast right ? One minute you end your Fall semester and you become so excited that all the long hours of writing school papers, studying for five or more hours at a time for exams, plus listening to three hour lectures is over !

You get to spend all this time with your family members, friends, and boyfriend or girlfriend, without having to stress over grades because you get to move succesfully onto your next semester ! Then next thing you know, you start to get reminders about the first day of when Spring semester is going to start.

After the reminders continue to pile up and you look at your school schedule, you immediately throw your head on your pillow and say “No, not now !” “ I want my long sleeping hours back ! ”

I am here to let all of you know that there are many ups and less downs to starting school again. One advantage to starting school again is that you get to finish up your last batch of classes at Kean, especially if you are graduating in May !

Another advatage of starting school again, is that you get to meet your new roomates (if you dorm on campus) and they may even be a sweet, fun, and just all around down to earth person ! If you get to dorm with your old roommate who you did not see throughout the entire break, could you think of a better way to get reunited ?

The third advantage to starting school again, is that you get to show off your new wardrobe that you got during the Winter break ! You probably have clothes that you purposely saved in the back of your closet to wear to school, now you get a chance to have fun with them and put them to use !

The fourth advantage to starting school again, is finally getting a chance to hang out around campus with your friends. Don’t you miss walking into the Starbucks CafĂ©, smelling roasted coffee, grabbing your favorite Vanilla Iced Coffee with a delicious sandwich, and walking up to your best friends at one of the tables to have a sort of “Gossip Girl” casual lunch set up ? Now you get to rekindle those awesome moments !

The fifth and final advantage of starting school again, is that you get the opportunity to meet up with your old club members, or you get the chance to join a new club. Clubs are an amazing way to get to develop a strong bond with girls or guys, you get to participate in a lot of cool activities, and you also can get the opportunity to work on community service projects.

If you are into creative writing, there is a club at Kean, called “Her Campus” and it’s an online women’s magazine where people can write about anything that they find extremely interesting. You can also advance not just your writing skills, but your networking and photography skills as well.

So on your first day of school, try to brush away, or simply forget the only downside to starting over again (which is waking up at early hours) and remember all the benefits to going back to another semester at college ! The beginning of it may be slow, but it will be done by the time you know it !
