In the midst of this winter’s wild stowstorms and crazy-low temps, we could all use a bit of a vacation. Hop on a shuttle to Oakland for Phipps Conservatory’s Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show. Stroll past hundreds of bright orchids and rows of tranquil bonsai, all in the temperature-controlled goodness of a greenhouse.

Dates: The Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show runs through March 9. Can’t make it? The conservatory is open year-round with other thrillingly beautiful exhibitions.

Saturday-Thursday Hours: 9am-5pm
