1. How does it feel to be the new CC for Her Campus Duke?
It’s exciting! I’ve been involved in Her Campus since I was a freshman, and it’s something I’ve always enjoyed being a part of. I think last semester was one of Her Campus’s best, and so far we’re off to a great start. I’m excited to have a part in keeping the momentum going this semester!
2. Tell us about who inspires you.
There are a lot of people who inspire me, but my freshman year roommate, Leah Nash, has always been an inspiration for me at Duke. Leah has a really good grasp on what matters most in life, and she helps me keep things in perspective when I’m having a hard time. I think that having a person who inspires you to stay true to yourself, and to stick to your values is very important in college, and I consider myself very lucky to have met such a person so early at Duke.
3. Describe your style in three words.
The word style intimidates me. I don’t think I have a style. Maybe I should get one.
4. What would you tell a friend who was going through a bad breakup?
I think I would do my best to remind them of how great they are, with or without a boyfriend. I would do my best to make them feel good about themselves, and make sure they knew I was there to listen.
5. What’s one thing you HAVE to do before leaving Duke?
Climb the chapel. I really need to do that.
6. School, Her Campus, extracurriculars, how do you balance a busy schedule?
I make a lot of lists. I actually probably spend more time making lists than accomplishing whatever is on the list, but somehow it usually all gets done!
7. What’s your favorite study location?
Lately I’ve been studying at Panera a lot. They have the best pastries and very comfortable booths!
8. If you could go anywhere (free of charge) where would you go and who would you take?
I would go to South Africa with my sisters. I have a few friends who studied there last semester, and their pictures were incredible.
9. Which Mean Girl do you think best describes you?
I have always liked Gretchen for some reason. I think it may be because she’s the only brunette, or maybe because I really like toaster strudel.
10. What’s your dream job?
I really don’t know. If someone could figure that out for me, and send me the application to their internship I would really appreciate it!
