Well meet Xavier Ortiz, a charming, hardworking young man who suffers from wanderlust. Even though he studies at UPRM, works at Friend’s and at Horned Dorset Primavera at Rincón, he took some of his time to sit with us to chat about what he likes, his plans for the future and his passion for new things.

1. What do you want do before you graduate UPRM?
X.O.: Honestly, at this point, I just want to graduate! But as I am planning to leave Puerto Rico to continue my studies, I want to make as much road trips as possible.
2.What do you with your free time?
X.O.: If I’m not working or on a road trip, I’m usually playing the guitar or practicing yoga.
3.Are you a coffee junkie?
X.O.: Yes! Instead of bar hopping, I like to go coffee-shop hopping, to explore the varieties.
4.Have you ever dated a girl you met while working on Friends?
X.O.: There was this one girl but I already knew her because she was a UPRM student, we just connected while I attended her at Friends Café.
5. Define your perfect date?
X.O.: I love simple things, so I’m happy with a good conversation, great chemistry in an outdoors setting.
6. What do you look for in a gal?
X.O.: The thing I value overall is personality but she has to be a confident, attractive woman.
7. Who is your celebrity Crush?
X.O.: Cobie Smulders,(Robin from HIMYM) Zooey Deschanel and Olivia Wilde.
8.What is your life motto?
X.O.: “Never forget to enjoy the pleasure of the journey”
9.Who is your all time favorite professor?
X.O.: I have three actually; Matthew Landers from humanities and two biology professors Rafael Montalvo and Dimuth Siritunga.
10. It is Thursday night, where can we find you?
X.O.: If I’m not working, which is a 98% chance that I am, I like to hang out at Rincón or Betances.
11.Where do you see yourself in ten years?
X.O.: Opening my own health clinic, probably married and traveling on my free time.
12. You are planning to change your major, how did you jump from biotech to chiropractic medicine?
X.O.: Well I doubted biotech a lot of times but I have always wanted to do something that with my knowledge and resources I could go out on missionary work. One time I visited my chiropractor, it hit me, I could dedicate my life to that profession and truly be happy with it.
Uprm girls are better because they’re intelligent, talented, competitive and beautiful.
