This campus celebrity is well known around UGA as a campus comedian. Our jokester hails from Columbus, Georgia and was born on January 5th 1994. She is an Early Childhood Education major here at UGA and is an Executive member of the Phi Mu Fraternity.  When I asked Ruthie if she had a fun fact or a special talent. She replied,

“ When I was a junior in high school, I ate a Moo Moo Mr. Cow burrito at Moes in literally 8 seconds”.

This tiny chick does not come across as one who could do such a thing. However, there is a video to prove it. Speed eating is just one of many talents. She is known around campus for her hilarious sense of humor and her contagious laugh. In fact, her dream is to one day be a cast member on Saturday Night Live. She plans to reach this long-term dream by perusing small day-to-day goals throughout college. One of these smaller goals that Ruthie holds near to her heart is to be featured on one of our favorite twitter feeds, UGA Makeouts. She believes that pursuing this goal will enable her to be one step closer to SNL. She promises to stay committed by consistently checking for updates first thing every morning. Another goal of Ruthie’s is to meet and marry Orlando Brown, from the early 2000’s Disney’s series That’s so Raven- but only as his character Eddie. Ruthie shared a number of incredible stories from her last 2 years at UGA. However, her two favorite memories are…

“Wow, that’s incredibly tough. One time freshman year, I came back from downtown with only one shoe. But the other day in class I was extremely hungry and the teacher ended his sentence on the board with “the size of a piece.” And a couple minutes later I looked down at my paper and without realizing it, I had written “the size of a piece of pizza.” Those are pretty quality memories.”

Among her hilarious stories from her past, Ruthie shared amazing accomplishments that she prides herself on. You may know Ruthie as ‘Champion of the 2014 UGAMiracle Donut Dare’. She took first place in a 5K while consuming all 10 donuts. All jokes aside, Ruthie undoubtedly devotes her time for children inside and outside of the Athens community. She is part of an organization that raised over $80,000 for the patients of Children’s healthcare of Atlanta as well as working at Athens Academy. Three Cheers for Ruthie!
