Name: Amy Stafford

Year: freshman

Major: political communication

What are you involved in on campus? I am newly a member of Emerson Feminists and Emerson Peace and Social Justice.

What can we expect with your work with these organizations? Since I am a new member I am not currently involved in any projects but I hope to start working on improving things on campus and bringing awareness to issues that are happening.

What can we expect from you in the future (project wise)? I would really like to improve things on Emerson’s campus such as promoting an environment without oppression. Sexual violence and discriminatory imagery should never have happened and certainly should not still be happening. It’s 2014.

Who or what inspires you? My mother definitely inspires me to be independent. My friends are also some of my biggest inspirations because of their encouragement. Hillary Clinton is also inspiring to me as a strong female figure in politics.

Biggest accomplishment so far at Emerson? Probably just the realization that I am in the place I need to be and I am meeting the people I need to meet.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully working at my dream job. I would like to see a lot of improvements within the next ten years in America and globally in terms of rights for oppressed groups. In ten years I would like equal pay for both genders in the workforce.

Dream job? Working at a US Embassy somewhere in the Middle East.

If you could trade lives with a celebrity for one day, who would it be and why? Kate Middleton. She’s classy, beautiful, giving, and I would really like to live as a princess for a day.
