“What’s Galentine’s Day?”
“Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”
An idea born from the hilarious Parks and Recreation show, February 13th, Galentine’s Day, is the day to spend with your girlfriends eating, telling stories, and appreciating one another. Celebrate Galentine’s Day with your friends and tell them how much they mean to you by doing any of these simple ideas for them.
1. Pull a Leslie Knope and get them all gift certificates for facials. Or, better yet, go get facials together!
Oasis Day Spa & Body Shop has an array of options. Essential facial, purity facial, bliss facial, take your pick! Places like Massage Envy and Paragon Day Spa also offer great facials.
2. Needlepoint a pillow with their face on it with the leading headline from a newspaper the day they were born (the way Leslie does).
3. Go to brunch together:
Show your appreciation for your friends by organizing a nice brunch. What’s better than getting a big plate of friendship pancakes to share around the table? Blue Moon Diner, Bizou, l’Etoile, Beer Run — the options are endless.
